(فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ)
(فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَالصَّرِيمِ) The letter *fa* (فَ) here denotes immediate succession, and it is also a *fa* of consequence.
(فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا) meaning, upon the garden... (طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ) a punishment, while they were asleep, unaware.
(فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ) They were deprived of the goodness of their garden due to their sin.
From Al-Farra': The *Ta'if* (visitation/calamity) only occurs at night.
Before sleep: (إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ)
During sleep: (فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ)
