التفسير التبليغي

(O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded) (6)

The address is to the head of the community.

Guidance for the people of faith by giving priority to the effort for the household.

Education, guidance, and admonition... Teach them and discipline them.

It depicts for the people of upbringing, faith, and certainty the Paradise that awaits the repentant.

It was said: Show effort from yourselves for religion and acts of worship so that they may learn from you and become accustomed to your habits.

The believer is tasked with guiding his family and reforming his household, just as he is tasked with guiding himself and reforming his heart.

We engage in preaching, reminding, and instilling fear in Allah.

It is our duty to teach our families the religion... They are a trust with us from Allah Almighty.

Teaching children to establish them upon obedience to Allah.

The believer must protect himself and protect his family from this Fire.

Parents must teach their children the religion, especially prayer and its rulings, as well as dealings and social interactions.

(O you who have believed, protect yourselves) by compelling yourselves to obey Allah and fulfill His commands.

(O you who have believed, protect yourselves) by abandoning sins (and your families) by advising and disciplining them.

(O you who have believed, protect yourselves) by abandoning sins and performing acts of obedience. And His saying: (and your families) means enjoining them, rectifying them, and compelling them to obey Allah.

Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), Mujahid, and Qatadah said: (Protect yourselves) by your actions, and protect your families by your admonition.

(Protect yourselves) Protection is not complete except with faith and righteous deeds.

Protection is not complete except with religion and the effort for religion.

Protecting family and children by disciplining them, teaching them, and compelling them to obey Allah's command.

Protecting souls from the Fire is among the obligations.

(A Fire whose fuel is people and stones) A terrifying, raging fire.

(Over which are angels) meaning the nineteen Zabaniyah (guardians of Hell) and their assistants.

There is no right and wrong among the angels... All angels are created upon obedience to Allah.

(Harsh and severe) Harsh in words, severe in actions.

(Harsh) from the harshness of the heart (severe) in striking.

(They do not disobey Allah in what He commands them) They do not disobey Him in what He commands them.

(But do what they are commanded) A warning to believers against apostasy, and to hypocrites who believe with their tongues but not their hearts.
