(يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ إِنْ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا لا تَنفُذُونَ إِلاَّ بِسُلْطَانٍ) (33)
Meaning: If you are able to penetrate... to exit from the extremities of the heavens and the earth, and their regions, then penetrate: meaning, then exit if you can.
(يَامَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالإنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا) from the regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate, fleeing from death, for death will surely overtake you, and your escape from it will not benefit you.
Ibn Abbas said regarding (يَامَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالإنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا لا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلا بِسُلْطَانٍ): If you are able to know what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, then know it, but you will not know it except with authority (سُلْطَانٍ), meaning with clear proof from Allah Almighty.
(يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ) meaning: you find a passage, a path by which you can escape from Allah's dominion and authority, (فَانْفُذُوا لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ) meaning: you will not exit from it except with strength and power from yourselves, and perfect ability. But how can they achieve that, when they possess no power over benefit or harm for themselves, nor over death, life, or resurrection?!
(يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ إِنْ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا) meaning: If you are able to exit from the regions of the heavens and the earth, fleeing from death.
(فَانْفُذُوا) is a command of challenge (implying impossibility).
(لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ) meaning: except with dominion, and it is also said: with proof.
