(So that We might send down upon them stones of clay) (33)
﴿لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ﴾ (So that We might send down upon them) means: after We had overturned their towns and made their high parts their low parts, as detailed in other noble surahs.
﴿حِجَارَةً مِنْ طِينٍ﴾ (stones of clay) means: hardened clay, which is *sijjīl*.
﴿لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِنْ طِينٍ﴾ (So that We might send down upon them stones of clay) In this, there is evidence for the stoning of those who commit the act of Lot (homosexuality).
