Tafsir

التفسير التبليغي

(وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ)

(وَزَرَابِيُّ) means: wide carpets, as if they are gardens, luxurious and fresh.

Spread out, woven with pearls and rubies.

(وَزَرَابِيُّ) are fine, soft, colored woolen carpets, spread on the ground for adornment and sitting upon by people of luxury.

(مَبْثُوثَةٌ) means: spread out everywhere, and 'mabthoothah' means: abundantly scattered on the ground.

The seats and gatherings of the people of Paradise indicate a life of luxury, including drinks and comforts.

When they (the righteous) humbled themselves in this world to the truth and softened themselves for it, Allah rewarded them with ease and luxurious carpets.

(مَبْثُوثَةٌ) means: spread out and scattered in rooms, courtyards, open spaces, recreational areas, and other places.

(وَزَرَابِيُّ) are beautiful carpets, (مَبْثُوثَةٌ) meaning: their gathering places are filled with them from every side.

(وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ) And the 'zarabi' are plush carpets, 'mabthoothah' (spread out) here and there for adornment and comfort.

(وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ) spread out everywhere, thus the blessings are complete from every side, encompassing what the eye sees, what the ear hears, and what they taste of drinks and other things.

(فِيهَا سُرُرٌ ... وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ) Since souls are naturally inclined to love comforts and furnishings, Allah has prepared for the believers in Paradise the finest, most perfect, and most honorable of them.

(وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ) This indicates the expansiveness of their souls, the joyousness of their hearts, and the openness of their minds.

He (Allah) presented their high ranks with four examples: that their elevated couches, and arranged cups, and lined cushions, and spread carpets are like the laden camels, and the raised sky, and the firmly set mountains, and the flattened earth.

The blessings of Paradise are beyond thought and comprehension.

It is narrated from Usamah ibn Zayd that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is there anyone striving for Paradise? For Paradise is priceless; by the Lord of the Kaaba, it is a shining light, a swaying fragrant plant, a lofty palace, a flowing river, ripe fruit, a beautiful, charming spouse, many garments, an eternal abode in a secure dwelling, and fruits and greenery, joy and delight, in a high, splendid abode?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, we are those who strive for it." He said: "Say: 'Insha'Allah (If Allah wills).'" The people said: "Insha'Allah."

Qatadah said: When Allah described what is in Paradise, the people of misguidance were astonished by it, so Allah revealed: (أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ... الْآيَاتُ) (Do they not look... the verses).
