Meaning: Let not their denial of you weaken your resolve.

He (Allah) consoled His Prophet (peace be upon him) with His saying:

A solace and comfort for the Messenger (peace be upon him) after the defeat at Uhud.

Al-Hasan said: Allah commanded His Prophet to be patient and consoled him.

This is a consolation for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) regarding the denial of his people and the denial of the Jews.

All other messengers were denied just as he was denied, so denial is a custom of nations.

(فَإِنْ كَذَّبُوكَ) regarding what you brought to them, (فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ) who came with the like of what you have brought.

So if the Jews deny you, let it not alarm you, for nations have done likewise to their prophets.

Do not grieve and do not despair... This denial is a phenomenon that all previous messengers before you experienced.

If this is their habit, not to believe in the messengers, who are described as such, then their matter should not grieve you, nor should their affair concern you.

All messengers come with what those to whom they are sent deny, so they are bound to be denied.

There is nothing upon the Prophet whom they denied, and his companions today, except to remain steadfast upon the truth.

(جَاءُوا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ), meaning: with clear proofs/miracles, and (وَالْكِتَابِ) which guides to the truth.

(وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُنِيرِ) meaning the one that illuminates darknesses.

"Al-Munir" (the illuminating) is that which illuminates and clarifies the truth for whoever is confused about it and makes it clear.

All previous scriptures, like our Book, illuminate the path for whoever wishes to tread it, but the greatest in illumination is this Noble Qur'an.
