106- SURAH QURAYSH
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
(لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ) (1)
The *lam* (prefix) is for astonishment, meaning: Be astonished at the familiarity of Quraysh and their love for travel for worldly trade. So why do you not become familiar with travel and mobilization in the way of Allah?
Allah did not mention any specific tribe by name in the Qur'an except the tribe of Quraysh.
(لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ) It is said that it is connected to the end of the preceding Surah, meaning: (فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ) (لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ). The meaning is that He destroyed the People of the Elephant so that Quraysh would become accustomed to the winter and summer journeys, due to the destruction of those who used to frighten and hinder them.
Words that indicate the establishment of security and the absence of fear.
Allah bestowed a favor upon the Arabs through this situation from which they benefited greatly.
Its essence is the favor upon Quraysh by assisting them in trade, making them accustomed to journeying therein and traveling throughout the land.
Meaning: Their journeys for trade with Syria and Yemen, in summer and winter every year, were a familiar and customary matter for Quraysh.
