As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overwhelming calamity (5)
When He (Allah) gathered them in disbelief, He separated them in punishment.
Thamud, Allah destroyed them by the *Taghiya* (overwhelming calamity/transgression), because it transgressed and assaulted Salih, the Messenger of Allah, and the she-camel of Allah.
﴿فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا﴾ meaning, Allah the Almighty destroyed them.
They were all destroyed because of it, due to their approval of the act of the *Taghiya* (the transgressor) who hamstrung the she-camel.
