So I swear by the retreating stars (15)
The stars retreat during the day and appear at night.
﴿بِالْخُنَّسِ﴾ meaning the planets whose rising is delayed after the rising of the sun.
Qatadah said: They are the stars that appear at night and retreat during the day.
