(فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ)
(فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ) So where are you going away from this Qur'an and turning away from it? (Al-Tabari)
(فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ) Meaning, where are you turning away from this Qur'an, in which there is healing and clarification?
(فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ) Meaning, with your hearts, away from this clear truth.
The meaning: Which path will you take that is clearer than the path that Allah has made clear for you?!
(فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ) This is said to someone who has lost their way. Their situation is likened to someone who deviates from it (the truth) towards falsehood.
(فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ) Just as you would say to someone who has abandoned the clear path after its manifestation: "This is the clear path, so where are you going?"
He - Glorified be He - rebuked those who turned away after the manifestation of this clear distinction between the call of the Messengers and the call of the devils.
(فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ) Away from the strength of the truth whose matter has become manifest, whose mention has spread, and which has become widespread throughout the entire earth, towards misguidance.
So which path will you take that is clearer than this path that Allah has made clear for you in His Noble Book?
He questions them disapprovingly: (فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ) Where are you going, turning away from the truth, while it confronts you wherever you go?
