Tafsir

(Go early to your harvest, if you are to harvest.)

Meaning: if you are to cut the fruits of the orchard.

They intended by cutting the fruits to deny the right of the poor, so Allah punished them by destroying their fruits.

(أَنِ اغْدُوا عَلَى حَرْثِكُمْ): Go out to your garden early in the morning, (إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَارِمِينَ): if you intend to gather the fruit.

This is a statement from some of them to others, and it contains an incitement for themselves to hasten and expedite the implementation of what they had agreed upon.
