(And when the stars lose their luster) (2)
The star loses its glow and its light, so it darkens.
﴿انْكَدَرَتْ﴾ means they fell, collapsed, and scattered.
The darkening of the stars: meaning the extinguishing of their flame and the dimming of their light.
The origin of *inkidar* (darkening/losing luster) is to pour down. Ibn Zayd said: ﴿انْكَدَرَتْ﴾: they will be cast down from the sky to the earth.
