But those among them who are firmly grounded in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what has been revealed to you [O Muhammad] and what was revealed before you. And those who establish prayer and give zakat, and believe in Allah and the Last Day – to them We will give a great reward.

The Exalted One made an exception for those among them who are firmly grounded in knowledge, such as Abdullah ibn Salam, Mukhayriq, and those who followed their path.

The one firmly grounded in knowledge is steadfast in his faith; he does not waver from it, nor is he swayed by whims and desires.

The one firmly grounded in knowledge possesses a sublime ascent in certainty.

The people of knowledge are the people of noble attributes.

Knowledge is a path that leads to Paradise.

Ignorance is a dark path.

Action is what perfects faith.

(يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ) meaning: And they believe in those who establish prayer... This elevates the status of those who establish it in the life of the nation, and indicates that they are a landmark of faith.

(وَالْمُقِيمِينَ الصَّلاةَ) Prayer is the pillar of the religion and its firm foundation... Prayer is an essential pillar of the religion.

Prayer: whoever establishes it has established the religion, and whoever neglects it has neglected the religion.

Prayer: a constant declaration of loyalty.

(وَالْمُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ) Zakat increases blessings and extinguishes wrath by bringing forth an abundance of mercy.

(سَنُؤْتِيهِمْ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا) for their obedience to Allah's commands and their complete avoidance of Jewish characteristics.

(سَنُؤْتِيهِمْ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا) for their combination of faith and the effort of faith.
