Tafsir

التفسير التبليغي

(وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ) (5)

(وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ) means: the upper world and what it contains of suns and moons, and fixed stars, and what it contains of His Throne and His Footstool, and His angels who do not disobey Allah in what He commands them and do what they are commanded, and what it contains of worlds whose number no one can enumerate except Him, and of hosts whose reality no one knows except He who created them, as He said: (وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ).

(وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ) means the heaven which He raised without visible pillars from below, and without suspension from above, despite its distance from the earth, its vastness, its breadth, and its strength.

He made it, meaning the heaven, a roof because it is a heaven for the earth, like the roof of a house which is its ceiling. Allah Almighty said: (وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَحْفُوظًا) [Al-Anbiya: 32].
